Description Develop high-quality electronic/electrical component product lines for engine and machine systems that meet complex requirements and low-cost producer (LCP) targets.
Partner with suppliers to deliver production components and help the systems engineers integrate successfully into various applications.
Directs and participates in the concept and design of complex Electronic Components/Platform projects for release to production in a manner to ensure products provide superior performance, durability, quality, and serviceability.
The team works in a dynamic environment that supports flexible work hours and a hybrid schedule, splitting time between working from home and in-person collaboration in the office in Mossville, IL.
Job Duties The Electronic Component Platform Lead Engineering Specialist position develops, improves, and troubleshoots electronic/electrical hardware used in an array of engine and machine systems.
This generally includes drawing upon foundational product development skills such as conceptual design, development of product and/or process, data analysis & extraction, failure resolution & prevention, and requirements management is required; as well as, ever increasing skill in technical project management, development of product, internal and external requirements management, and cost-value management.
Some or all these activities may be performed in partnership with a supplier including the manufacturing plan and process development.
Project scope will vary up to a moderate technical focus on an electrical/electronic component product and will require incumbent to broaden business understanding.
Although jobs/projects will have a relatively narrow focus, understanding and defining their benefits to the application/system is crucial.
The position responsibilities include a strong focus on quality through simulation, analysis, verification, and validation testing at the component level.
Advanced troubleshooting and analysis skills are needed to resolve complex development and field issues and to improve overall performance and cost.
This individual is considered a deep technical expert in the component product area.
Basic Qualifications Requires a bachelor's degree in an accredited Engineering curriculum (Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical) plus 7-9 years of experience in embedded electronic hardware development or a master's degree in an Electrical or Computer Engineering curriculum plus 5-7 years of experience in embedded electronic hardware development.
Top Candidates will also have Demonstrated excellent analytical skills and the ability to perform complex assignments.
Requires strong technical leadership skills.
Must have strong problem-solving skills and analytical skills and the ability to communicate technical information effectively.
